Former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy says ordinary Australians would like a “bit of leadership” right now as Scott Morrison is failing in that area.

“We are in a daily campaign mode; no one should take just about anything that the prime minister does today as other than an election stunt,” Mr Conroy told Sky News Australia.

“The PM has got no policy initiatives.

“He is not John Howard, he is not a leader, and the ordinary Australians would like a bit of leadership right now.

“Scott Morrison is failing in spades on that.”
