The 28-year-old was playing on Thursday morning (AEDT) for Chelsea in their Champions League group-stage match against Italian side Juventus when the match was stopped due to the intruder.
The crowd was audibly unimpressed with the pitch invader before Kerr took the matter into her own hands by bowling him over with a textbook shoulder charge, earning loud cheers from the Chelsea supporters.

Kerr’s efforts in halting the interruption brought back memories of the scenes when Andrew Symonds decked a streaker during an ODI at the Gabba in 2008.
While speaking on Fox Cricket Symonds fully supported Kerr taking the initiative adding that he’d like to “buy her a beer”.
“We’re obviously bred pretty tough here in Australia and don’t take backwards steps,” Symonds said.
“In the heat of competition there’s a lot of adrenaline and when someone interrupts the match like that it can be frustrating.

“Sammy obviously took things into her own hands when security couldn’t catch the bloke, so good for her. She’s an icon and obviously knows how to handle herself. I’d like to buy her a beer and chat about it.”
The footage of Kerr’s perfectly executed hip and shoulder has gone viral with thousands supporting the Matildas’ captain.
“It was hard to think of a way Sam Kerr could finish this week that would endear her to Australian fans even more, beyond what she’s achieved on the field. This was the only way,” one admiring fan tweeted.

“Sam Kerr smashing goals and smashing pitch invaders. How can you not love this woman? Solid hip and shoulder too,” another wrote.
“Sam Kerr doing her inner Andrew Symonds is absolutely brilliant,” tweeted a third.
Chelsea finished their Champions League match in a frustrating nil-all draw but they will remain three points clear at the top of their Champions League group.
Earlier in the week Chelsea triumphed over London rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final with the Australian scoring a double and earning player of the match honours.
