The Northern Territory has recorded two new COVID-19 cases.

One is a passenger from a repatriation flight from South Africa and is currently quarantining at Howard Springs – the strain has yet to be confirmed yet.

The other is a 50-year-old man from Katherine.

This takes the total of active cases to 53 within the Katherine COVID outbreak.

From midday local time today, vaccinated Katherine residents are able to move freely wearing a mask – although unvaccinated will need to follow lockdown restrictions.
