Prime Minister Scott Morrison will personally introduce long-awaited religious discrimination laws to parliament today.

The federal government – who promised to enshrine protections for Australians in the 2019 election – has hailed the bill as a “shield not a sword”.

But critics – including within its own ranks – claim the proposed legislation still has gaping holes – which could leave some people worse off.
