Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has accused the Commonwealth of wanting Queenslanders “to get COVID for Christmas”.

Her remarks followed a day of heightened tension about whether visitors to Queensland would have to pay $150 for PCR tests.

Queensland’s Opposition leader David Crisafulli labelled Ms Palaszczuk’s comments as embarrassing and took the opportunity to issue a plea for interstate travellers to visit the Sunshine state.
