Sky News host Chris Kenny says the activist left “have been caught out making up stories” again after revelations about the spray can incident involving Victorian crossbench MP Andy Meddick’s daughter.

Mr Meddick’s daughter was injured last week when a spray can was thrown at her and hit her in the head.

Mr Meddick – an Animal Justice MP – issued a statement suggesting his daughter had been attacked because of his support for the Andrews government’s proposed pandemic legislation.

Mr Kenny said it soon became clear “this might not be the case”.

“According to police, Keilan Meddick had been spraying graffiti over posters in the early hours of the morning herself when she was challenged, and she threw the can at someone else before it came back her way,” Mr Kenny said.

“We’ll leave that all that for the police to sort out, but … Meddick needs to withdraw what he said and apologise.”
