Liberal Senator Jim Molan says Europe, France, and the United Kingdom have been “appalling managers” of their borders.

It comes as overnight, at least 27 migrants illegally attempting to cross the English Channel in an overloaded inflatable boat drowned.

“When you badly manage borders, people die,” Mr Molan told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“The big issue here though is resolve, this is not rocket science and people have been coming to me from the UK and from Europe for probably how long? For five or six or seven years, asking for a solution, how did Australia do it.

“The first thing I say is that well we had resolve, we wanted to do it in the first instance.”
