NSW One Nation Leader Mark Latham says there seems to be an “inconsistency in the rules” within the Victorian Labor Party.

Next week Labor is set to kick off preselections for the Victorian election which will take place in November next year.

It is being reported Labor-aligned political lobbyists have been heavily involved in striking a deal to carve up electorates between rival party factions.

“There seems be an inconsistency in the rules, you can be a registered lobbyist where there’s all these restrictions on what you can and can’t do with a Victorian minister,” Mr Latham told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“But you can get in the backroom and people don’t know much about it other than what we’re reading in the newspaper.

“But I think the bigger issue is really a cultural one, that if party seats are being determined by sub factional warlords rather than members participating in the process, it builds a culture of arrogance.

“It’s a toxic, toxic culture when it happens this way.”
