People arriving into Queensland from interstate hot spots will no longer have to pay for an expensive COVID-19 test when road borders reopen next month.

Initially, people coming into Queensland would have had to go to a private lab – which would cost approximately $145 – to get their test done so they could get a certificate but this is no longer necessary.

Travellers will now be able to get a COVID-19 from a regular government-funded clinic and showing the text message displaying the results of the test will suffice.
