Sky News host Jenna Clarke says The Australian is reporting plans are being made for South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in to visit Australia before the end of the year.

The official visit will mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“This is a great move for Australia,” Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham told Ms Clarke.

“It’s also an interesting move when it comes to China and South Korea’s relationship with China.

“Clearly they’re sending a message to Australia … it sends that message that they’re open for businesses.

“But it also sends a message to China, I think, as tensions rise in this region to say hey, we’re with these guys and we’re on the side of democracy.”
