Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the current unemployment rate in Australia is “lower than it was under Labor” as there are high numbers of first homebuyers, apprentices and women in the workforce.

Mr Frydenberg said thanks to JobKeeper, there were “more than 700,000 jobs saved” in the pandemic, and the pay gap between men and women has lessened.

“Today, we have more women in the Australian workforce than under Labor; today, the gender pay gap is narrower than it was under Labor,” he said.
