Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson says Health Minister Greg Hunt “deserves” an apology from the Palaszczuk government over the confusion about the state’s PCR test requirements.
Mr Hunt has confirmed fully vaccinated travellers to Queensland – from December 17 – can use the free text message to show they have tested negative and will not need to pay close to $150 for an official certificate following confusion over the issue.
“I’ll tell you what happened here. Palaszczuk lied in saying that they had the same PCR requirement as the other states,” Mr Gleeson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“They refused for weeks to clarify whether they needed a private lab certificate rather than a text message of the negative test.
“Greg Hunt, he’s demanded an apology. He hasn’t received one as of yet … but I think he deserves one.”
