Woodside and its partner BHP Petroleum have approved the development of one of Australia’s largest gas projects off the Western Australian coast.

The development is being described by some environmental groups as “Australia’s biggest fossil fuel project”, according to Sky News business reporter Edward Boyd.

Mr Boyd spoke to Woodside’s chief executive Meg O’Neill to talk about the project, called the Scarborough project, and how it’s going to try and reduce carbon emissions it will be creating until 2055.

“They’re going to be planting trees but also working with carbon capture and storage,” he said.
