Chief Minister Michael Gunner says The Northern Territory has recorded three new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

This takes the Katherine cluster to 40 cases.

“The first case is a man in his 40s, who was identified as a close contact last Monday, the 15th, he tested negative twice last week while at the Centre for National Resilience – but has since tested positive – he had received one dose of the vaccine,” Mr Gunner said.

“The second case is a woman in her 20s from the Binjari community … she is unvaccinated, she is now at the Centre for National Resilience.

“The third case today is an infant from Robinson River … he’s a child of an earlier positive case, he’s been transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital for care.”
