The Northern Territory’s COVID cluster in Katherine has risen to 40 cases, with some form of lockdown or lockout to remain imposed on the community until December 4, according to Chief Minister Michael Gunner.

It comes as the territory recorded an additional three COVID-19 cases overnight.

One was an infant from Robinson River, the second a man in his 40s who had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and the other an unvaccinated woman in her 20s.

“At this stage, Katherine will have to be in some form of lockdown or lockout until December 4,” Mr Gunner told a media conference on Tuesday.
