Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the government wants things in “khaki election territory”.

“Opposition foreign affairs spokeswoman Penny Wong today coming off the line on matters of foreign affairs and national security, which are usually bipartisan, accusing Defence Minister Peter Dutton of trying to talk up war with China as a way to win the election in a speech in Canberra,” Mr Clennell said.

“Peter Dutton did not miss, responding to this in Question Time.

“This is right where the government seem to want things; in khaki election territory.”
