Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says all the talk about the religious freedom legislation being a great wedge against Labor this week looks like a “fizzer”.

“After several MPs including Warren Entsch, Trent Zimmerman and Fiona Martin expressed concern about it and one of them suggested it should go off to a Senate committee, the PM indicated that is where it would likely head after he introduced it into parliament by the PM next week,” Mr Clennell said.

“So we will have to wait until then to see the Bill.

“There had been some thought were there no objection that we could see it in the house as early as today.”
