Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says consumer confidence has risen for nine of the past 11 weeks and is now “higher than pre-pandemic levels” as Australia’s economy continues to show resilience.

Mr Frydenberg said there are 30 per cent more job advertisements than before the pandemic and female workforce participation is “higher than when we came to government”.

“The gender pay gap is lower than when we came to government and the unemployment rate is lower than when we came to government,” he said.

Mr Frydenberg said the “momentum of the economic recovery” is due to the federal government cutting taxes for families and businesses.
