The nation’s borders continue to reopen, with fully-vaccinated visa holders able to enter from December 1.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said these visa holders will include skilled and student cohorts, which comes as a relief for universities and businesses desperate to hire more workers.

From December 1, the government is also making it easier for double-vaccinated Japanese and South Korean residents to arrive without needing to quarantine but they will have to fly into states already open.

The government says it’s working on a figure of 200,000 visa holders arriving between December and January but the home affairs minister has made it clear this number could go even higher.
