South Australia’s Deputy Premier Vickie Chapman will stand down from her ministerial roles – pending the outcome of an ombudsman’s inquiry.

The inquiry will look into her decision to reject a proposal to build a seaport on Kangaroo Island.

A parliamentary inquiry found there was a conflict of interest and Ms Chapman should be found guilty of contempt of parliament for misleading the house.

Ms Chapman has defended her decision – insisting there is no conflict of interest.
