Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s plan to force those entering Queensland to pay for expensive COVID-19 tests is “unreasonable,” according to Tweed Shire Council Mayor Chris Cherry.

“Our community, as you know, is sitting cheek by jowl with Queensland and we interact as one community,” Ms Cherry told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“We thought we were opening up, we thought we were getting to see our family and our friends for Christmas.

“To have that now, going to cost us $150 just to do that, is just unrealistic.”
