The New South Wales government is considering changes to the state’s quarantine model which would see close contacts in isolation until returning a negative COVID-19 test.

The changes are also expected to be made for New South Wales schools after thousands of students were forced to isolate under the current guidelines.

Premier Dominic Perrottet says he’ll examine whether the current protocols of closing schools down are unsustainable.

The government is expected to discuss the matter with senior ministers next week.
