Canada’s westernmost province is in the midst of a flooding emergency – after historic rainfall swept the region last weekend.

Flooding and mudslides have destroyed highways and farmlands and left thousands of people out of their homes – now, the Canadian military is on the way to help.

Canadian troops left Quebec to head to Abbotsford this morning, where they will be connected with 120 soldiers who arrived overnight.
