New South Wales Customer Services Minister Victor Dominello says the government is firm on the December 15 date to go back to normal, including releasing limits for unvaccinated people.
“We’ve indicated that 15 December will be the day that we either get to the 95 per cent or that will be the day that we open up to the unvaccinated as well,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Mr Dominello defended the two week delay for the day – as it was originally announced restrictions for unvaccinated people would be relaxed on December 1 – and said it was a “decision within government”.
Mr Dominello said the decision was made as there may be people who were “on the fence about vaccination” and the delay may encourage them to get the jab where they otherwise might not have.
“Come 15 December, that’s when the unvaccinated can come back into the economy,” he said.
