NSW Independent MP Alex Greenwich says a “conservative model” of voluntary assisted dying legislation has been introduced to Parliament.

Mr Greenwich said there are two provisions which would kick in if the legislation was misused.

“If someone is coercing a person to apply for voluntary assisted dying, that’s seven years in prison,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“If someone is coercing a person to take the assisted dying substance that’s life in prison.

“There are a number of other potential convictions in place as well in the bill.”
