The Australian’s Paul Kelly says Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been “very badly damaged in a personal sense” by issues such as the slow pace of the vaccine rollout.
Newspoll on Tuesday showed how fast public trust in Mr Morrison had fallen from April to November this year.
“I guess the point to make about all this tables is that the Australian electorates facing a situation where it’s uninspired by both leaders,” Mr Kelly told Sky News Australia.
“We’ll have to see the way this plays out during the course of the election campaign.
“Leadership and leadership profile will be critical in the campaign.”
