Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce says the blocking the coal trains in the Hunter region is “completely and utterly unreasonable”.

Mr Joyce said there was $1 million of revenue on each train and by stopping them, Australia was losing out on “about $100,000 of royalties”.

“What that means is they’re blocking payments to your hospitals, to your police, to your schools, the tax revenues, they’re blocking payments to your NDIS,” he told Sky News Australia.

“They don’t acknowledge that this is the money that tries to balance the books of the nation.”
