There is a “watershed moment” coming for Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, according to Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson.

Queensland continues to record lagging vaccine rates, raising concerns about whether the state will hit an 80 per cent double jab rate by the predicted December 17 date, as outlined in Queensland’s COVID-19 Vaccine Plan.

Mr Gleeson said the December 17 date would raise difficulty for Ms Palaszczuk, noting “I don’t think we’re any chance of getting to 80 per cent double vax by then – we haven’t even gotten to 80 per cent first jab.

“It poses the question: will she have to make a big call and say look, we’re only at 76 per cent but I’m gonna stick to December 17.”
