The Northern Territory recorded no new cases on Sunday with the source of the infection now known which made Mr Gunner “confident” the restrictions would be ended on Monday night.
“We’re in a much better position than we were yesterday,” he said.
“We’ve had… no positive (cases) and we now know the source of the infection.

“I’m confident that come midnight tomorrow we can transition out of these lockouts.”
The source of the infection was a 21-year-old woman who lied on her border entry form after she had spent time in Melbourne before arriving in the Territory.
Mr Gunner revealed that after five hours of interviews it could be confirmed she had flown from Cairns to Adelaide before driving to Melbourne on October 21.
She then spent four days in Victoria which is where she likely caught the virus before driving back to Adelaide on October 25.
The woman then flew back to Cairns and on to Darwin on October 29.
“These actions have put there Territory at risk. They forced Katherine into lockdown and forced Katherine businesses to shut,” Mr Gunner said.

“While there were compassionate reasons for her decision to visit Victoria, there were not compassionate reasons for lying to the Territory and coming here from a hotspot.
“She’s been issued a $5024 fine and she’ll also pay for a $2500 stay at Howard Springs.”
The Chief Minister reminded residents that anyone who is required to go into quarantine at the Centre for National Resilience will only have to pay for their quarantine period if they lie on their entry form.
Following the woman’s admission the Northern Territory government will be extending their investigation in Greater Darwin with the extended lockout giving authorities time to conduct further contact tracing and testing.
The Greater Darwin lockout will now end at midnight on Monday while Katherine’s lockdown will be downgraded to a lockout from 3pm before that ends at midnight on Monday.
