Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells says the proposed voter ID legislation “reduces the risk of voter impersonation”.

The proposed laws would mean voters have to show a form of identification when voting.

“If you don’t have an ID, well then somebody can attest to who you are, but also the voter can be issued with a declaration vote,” Ms Fierravanti-Wells told Sky News host Alan Jones.

“So the options are covered.”
