The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has “finally caught up” with the problems relating to overseas travel as Australia continues to open up.
“There’s been a problem with travel advisories telling Australians they shouldn’t travel overseas, and listing all foreign nations as places that they should not travel to,” he said.
“And this has created problems for people trying to book tickets, effectively stopping them getting travel insurance.
“The good news is that the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has finally caught up; today they updated their general advice about travelling overseas and started to update the individual advices for each country.
“Most of the normally safe countries have been listed as ‘exercise caution’, that is, try not to catch COVID or get caught up in lockdowns or the like.
“So that’s it, you can book your ticket, read the advice, get your travel insurance and head overseas.”
