Australia will never be able “to appease” the likes of David Attenborough on climate, according to Sky News host Chris Smith.
The British naturalist and broadcaster criticised the Morrison government’s 2050 plan for failing to increase 2030 emissions reduction targets.
Mr Smith said the climate wars “have only just begun, we’re just fighting them on a different level now”.
“We’re never going to appease the likes of David Attenborough, whose job it is not to look after the mining industry, whose job it is not to look after coal and our exports which give us the lifestyles that we have today.
“That’s not his consideration.”
