Employment Minister Stuart Robert says the federal government is “moving very strongly with a technology-driven approach” and a plan to reach net-zero by 2050 for Australia.

“It’s important for Australians to understand we’ve already reduced since 2005 by 20 per cent our emissions and we are well and truly on track to meet our 26 to 28 per cent reduction targets by 2030,” Mr Robert told Sky News Australia.

“Australia’s doing exceptionally well on this, we are bringing in emissions down, we’re increasing solar.

“The government’s policy remains the same, we are moving very strongly with a technology-driven approach and roadmap towards net-zero.

“We want to there by 2050, we want to get there as quickly as possible, and preferably by 2050, that’s the government’s position.”
