NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says at this stage the date for freedoms to be granted to unvaccinated residents is still December 1, given he wants to drive vaccination rates up to open safely.
“We’ve set that date … and I think that’s the target, because we want to obviously continue to drive the vaccination rate here in our state,” Mr Perrottet told Sky News Australia.
He said it was pleasing to see the state hit its 90 per cent first dose target on Saturday.
“We’re leading the nation here, arguably the world, in terms of the substantial take up and the pace of take up of vaccination across our state.
“But we want to do everything we can to drive that vaccination rate above 90 per cent, and if we can do that we can open up safely.”
