A Qantas flight has become the latest New South Wales exposure site.

Health authorities detected a positive case of COVID-19 in a passenger travelling from Brisbane to Sydney.

Passengers on board flight QF 509 on Saturday morning are now considered close contacts.

They must get tested and isolate for 14 days regardless of the result.

Vaccinated close contacts are only required to isolate for seven days if they test negative on the sixth day.
