The Nationals understand “grassroots Australia” wants “sensible” climate policy particularly when it comes to the economy, says Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson.

“This is not just about the climate – we all want to save the planet – this is about the economic impact,” he told Sky news host Peta Credlin.

“If ScoMo starts embracing this Glasgow sort of module and goes into that particular scenario with a more extreme policy than Shorten, those miners who voted for him last time will just give him the middle finger.

“They have to get this right. The Nats will have a lot to say on this, don’t worry.”
