Vice President Kamala Harris has continued to cop criticism for failing to address the border crisis despite being put in charge of the situation, with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade saying she has “no interest” in carrying out the job.
“I’ve never in my life seen someone get assigned a job and have no interest in doing it,” Brian Kilmeade said.
“A couple of zoom calls, one visit.
The situation at the US-Mexico border severely worsened last month when an estimated 30,000 mostly Haitian migrants crossed the river to be processed into the country.
It created a humanitarian crisis as thousands camped under the International Bridge, running out of food and water.
Controversial images released from the area showed border agents using whips to stop migrants from crossing the river.
The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced the department would launch an investigation into the inhumane treatment.
However, the photographer and reporters on the ground said those images were misconstrued and agents never whipped migrants.
The Vice President addressed the controversy in her only on-camera comment about the border crisis.
“The only thing she commented on was the horse situation – she though that was a controversy, she ran to a camera and said ‘this is a problem with the way certain border patrol members are treating Haitian immigrants’. It turns out the investigation is still ongoing cause there is nothing there,” Mr Kilmeade said.
“All she needs to do is not solve the problem – try, try to solve the problem. Meet with the people, demand answers.
“She doesn’t put the effort in which there’s no excuse for and it’s happening over and over again.
