NSW Police Minister David Elliott says pill testing at music festivals could offer a “false sense of security”.
It comes as the ACT has approved a trial of pill testing at music festivals.
Mr Elliott says this send a “terrible message” to young people about illicit drugs.
“We can’t just surrender the war against drugs,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“We’ve got to make sure that we not only regulate, we also ensure that there is a punitive punishment for those that deal in drugs, and tell kids just don’t touch them.”
