The downward trend of daily COVID-19 cases has continued with New South Wales recording 360 new locally acquired cases from 88,988 tests in the previous 24 hours.

Of the state’s active cases, 766 people remain in hospital, 155 of whom are presently in ICU.

The latest numbers will be welcome news for lockdown-weary residents who enjoyed their first day of freedoms on Monday after reaching the 70 per cent double dose target last week.

As things stand, 74 per cent of NSW’s eligible population have been fully vaccinated and 90.4 per cent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
