Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says Australians “can’t afford to be complacent and to slip back further”, as restrictions start to ease after 106 days in lockdown for Greater Sydney.

Mr Albanese said Australia needed to be vigilant when transitioning into living with the virus, because “we know the consequences” of making mistakes.

“Because on a number of occasions, we’ve thought that we were through this and the truth is that we weren’t.

“We need to continue to get those vaccination rates up … If you can get vaccinated, go and do it today if you can.”
