Owner of Nutie Sina Klug says her business has been “struggling immensely” with a shortage of staff on visa as the hospitality industry rely on international workers.
“We’ve been struggling immensely, especially in Hospitality, we do rely on international workers, pastry students, people on student visas that come into the country,” Ms Klug told Sky News Australia.
“There’s been a kind of war going on between smaller and bigger businesses on wages over the past year; it’s been incredibly difficult and visa conditions also make it very hard.
“So, we’ve had people that are already in the country and we’ve trained them for three years and the government is forcing them to move to rural Australia.
“We’ve lost a lot of people to their visa conditions.”
