Shadow Education Minister Tanya Plibersek says Prime Minister Scott Morrison should take up the opportunity and attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
Mr Morrison continues to weigh up whether to attend the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference which is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow in November.
“This is an opportunity for the world to do something really significant to bring down pollution but also invest in a clean energy future that brings with it prosperity and jobs,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia.
“It’s pretty extraordinary not to take the opportunity to be at the table when these huge decisions are being made,” she said.
“They have a huge effect on Australia and our future and it would make sense to me that Australia would be represented at the highest level at something like this.”
