At least 50 people have been killed with scores of worshippers injured after a suicide bomber struck Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque in north-eastern Afghanistan during weekly prayers on Friday.

Authorities believe the attack, which occurred in Kunduz province, specifically targeted the nation’s Shiite minority.

It marks the deadliest attack in Afghanistan since allied troops departed back in September.
