Yellow Brick Road Home Loans Executive Chairman Mark Bouris has backed NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet’s changes to the roadmap, saying it is time to prioritise the country’s “economic performance”.
Amendments announced by Mr Perrottet on Thursday will see caps on indoor and outdoor gatherings eased, with the state’s economy set to reopen next Monday.
“He’s an economist in that he understands the economic impact or effects from all of this,” Mr Bouris told Sky News Australia.
“What I think we’re hearing him saying is we’re about to weigh up the mental health problems, the physical health problems as well as the economic problems.
“Look, we’ve got more than two million people unemployed in this country right now.
“We’ve got this under control – sort of – it’s now time to get control of the unemployment numbers, the economic performance of this country and in particular this city and this state.”
