Political adviser Brigid Meney says the goal to have some international students come back to Australia by the end of the year is “ambitious”.

“The (education) minister’s statement today was a bit of a nothing, really,” Ms Meney told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.

“He said there’ll be a couple hundred before the end of the year, which I think is ambitious given everyone trying to get into Australia before Christmas.”
