Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has appointed herself the Minister for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The Premier will take on the new portfolio and hand her current trade portfolio to Treasurer Cameron Dick.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles will become the Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics in addition to his current development, local government and planning portfolios.
Sport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe will become the Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement.
Premier Palaszczuk has described the ministerial changes as a “small but necessary steps towards 2032”.
