Five babies in Canberra Hospital’s Special Care Nursery are in quarantine after being identified as close contacts to positive COVID cases.
They will be tested today and if reported negative, carers will be allowed to visit the infants tomorrow.
The Nursery cluster remains at five while dozens of workers are in isolation.
A separate ward is treating two COVID-positive babies as investigations are ongoing as to how the virus entered the ward.
This comes as almost 97 per cent of the territory’s residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and more than 68 per cent are fully vaccinated.
