NDIS Minister Linda Reynolds says “significant progress” has been made in vaccinating people with a disability, despite a royal commission draft report warning COVID restrictions should remain until all are given an opportunity to be vaccinated.

Nearly 70 per cent of all NDIS participants across the country have been vaccinated, and over 75 per cent first vaccination for those in residential care.

Ms Reynolds said her department had been working intensively with the NSW government in LGAs of most concern to ensure vaccination rates were continuing to climb.

“It was quite a challenge to start with because I think we underestimated the challenges involved,” Ms Reynolds told Sky News Australia.
