Prime Minister Scott Morrison has praised New South Wales for hitting the 70 per cent fully vaccinated milestone.
“We have passed the first major milestone for Australians to start getting their lives back,” he said on Thursday.
Mr Morrison praised the work of doctors and pharmacists in New South Wales and said “two-thirds of the vaccinations” delivered in the state were under the Commonwealth’s program.
He said New South Wales’ plan to reopen safely on Monday was “what the national plan is about” and provided certainty.
“When you hit those vaccination rates, you can open with certainty again and you can open safely with certainty again, and you can stay open,” he said.
