Dominic Perrottet is expected to prioritise economic recovery and community wellbeing over day-to-day emergency management as the Premier of New South Wales.
Mr Perrottet’s promising a brighter summer – after lengthy discussions with Health Minister Brad Hazzard last night.
The talks focused on modest changes to the 70 per cent vaccine roadmap – including accelerating the resumption of schooling and easing restrictions around religious services.
Putting businesses at the forefront of the recovery Mr Perrottet is also considering rebates for companies that lose perishable stock if they are forced to go into a snap lockdown.
While no decision has been made to lift the lockdown early the state’s youngest premier will chair his first meeting of the crisis cabinet today.
The 39 year old is expected to flag his intention to reshape the committee – and possibly rename it.
The group is also expected to meet less frequently.
